The Lord speaks through Isaiah and tells us to forsake [reject and change] our wicked ways [living life our own way, doing things our own way] and our unrighteous thoughts [speaking our own words, thinking our own thoughts] and to seek Him [with all our heart, soul, mind and strength with humility] and call on Him [to deliver us from the penalty of our sin and save us from the judgement of His wrath which He will pour out on this disobedient world] and return to the Lord [in obedience and love] for mercy and pardon [to grant us repentance, forgive us our sin, cleanse us from all our unrighteousness and reconcile us to Himself]. This is what true repentance from the heart means.
